Italian Film Festival

I nearly crashed the car when I saw my illustration up in the city - I had no idea it was going to be so big. Who doesn't love an illustrated poster? The Lavazza Italian Film Festival at Palace Cinemas is on from Sept 19 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth - the biggest Italian film festival outside of Italy. It looks like a great selection of films - come one, come all! Thanks to Demi Hopkins at Carnival Studios for the gig, it looks great mate.

Magnificent Flying Machines Mural

I was pleased as punch to be asked by the very lovely Gillian Khaw, of Gillian Khaw Interiors, to paint a mural in this Darling Point house.
Ah, painting on the walls is so liberating - oh but don't try this at home, kids!

Cat/Chair

Here's a little something I like to call "Cat/Chair", an enigmatic title full of double meanings and dripping with intrigue. This little guy will be appearing in Gardening Australia in April.

Peggy Darling

Pegging out the washing, in my opinion, is the best of the bad bunch of weekend chores. I'd go so far as to say I could make this a bi-weekly or, hang it, a tri-weekly activity, just so I can put these little beauties out to dry.

Bird Haiku

A private commission. Forgive the grammer, the author of the haiku was all of 2 years old!

Daylesford map

Another map for Gardening Australia. Ah, Daylesford, a lovely part of the country.

School Magazine

My posting has gone by the wayside for many months now, will put my best foot forward and add a little now. This is a selection of images keeping me busy. The first is for the NSW Department of Education School Magazine Countdown, a lovely poem called City Centre Saturday by Kate Williams.

The show opens February 7 until March 27, at Linden Centre of Contemporary Arts, 26 Acland Street St Kilda Vic. There are 1000's of entries so hopefully mine won't get lost on the way to the ladies room. In case they do though, here they are...

Look, Baby!

Looking forward to wasting many, many otherwise productive hours fiddling with this little blog. This is a little something on it's way to the press any day now. Look, Baby! by Penny Matthews for Working Title Press. Thanks to Jane Covernton for asking me along for the ride, Eija Murch-Lempinen for her great design and, as always, my wonderful agent, Margaret Connolly, for her tireless work peddling my (and many others) wares.

Minnie Pearl and the Undersea Bazaar

One of the many books written by Natalie Jane Prior. Thanks to Belinda Bolliger at ABC Books for conjuring up the idea of a mermaid book, just what our little girls wanted!
